Maine Committee on Trauma
The Maine Committee on Trauma (COT) is committed to improving the quality of trauma care. Trauma Centers have been established at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, and Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Trauma centers at CMMC and EMMC jointly administer Maine's LifeFlight medical helicopter service.
Surgeons participating in the COT have been instrumental in developing a statewide trauma system, trauma registry, and participating in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses.
